The 3R Research Foundation finances research projects with the aim of promoting the spread of 3R methods.
The Foundation's funds are provided by the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office and Interpharma in Basle.
Scientists are encouraged to submit applications for funding their research projects.
An Evaluation Committee examines the applications and makes a recommendation to the Administrative Board.
The 3R Research Foundation, which is the Swiss platform for 3R alternative laboratory methods, is a member of ecopa (European Consensus Platform for 3R Alternatives to Animal Experimentation).
